Kate Pultz | Web Creative|UX/UI Design|Art Direction

Although I began in print and still have a love for it, my work has included interactive and website design and development for over 20 years. From my very first website in 1997, I learned how to design and build websites through on-the-job training, professional experience and freelance work. I challenged myself to explore and understand all aspects of web design, development and the user experience.

Through continued opportunities to learn, collaborate, conduct research and user testing, my focus is on improving user experience through usability, accessibility, responsive design and site structure.

Working on an education technology company’s enterprise-wide online presence for the past 10 years, I have concentrated on UX/UI, branding and design. Over the years I have been involved in multiple major redesigns, guiding design patterns and brand changes. Meeting stakeholder needs, collaborating with vendors and development teams, my UX/UI work improved user experiences while seamlessly integrating multiple back-end systems.

Acting as a design consultant to outside vendors, I authored web brand and style guidelines along with accessibility compliance documents that were also cascaded internally to other teams.

My projects have transitioned from handbuilt HTML into CMS-based websites, including having worked on component design and specifications to stand up two customized CMS platforms.

I chose a creative career but enjoy digging in to the technical, so have been training in front-end development increasing my HTML5 and CSS3 coding skills.
