As the principal UX/UI and website designer for incorporating the National Geographic Learning (NGL) catalog into the Cengage family, I maintained the recognized National Geographic brand while adding functionality and presentation of the Cengage catalog platform.

I worked closely with the NGL stakeholders, catalog platform programmers and the eCommerce platform owners. A seamless integration of the customer database, dynamic catalog content and assets, the design was an easy to use customer interface that engaged with visuals from National Geographic photography.

K-12 and English as a Second Language/English Language Teaching (ESL/ELT) are the two primary markets for NGL, with distinct products for each. While the website homepage established the NGL brand message, individual market pages allowed for targeted messaging to each customer group.

Catalog Search Results

Catalog search results followed design patterns established for other Cengage catalogs, along with allowing related content for both students and teachers to be promoted in the right rail.
